About Chris Wahl
Chris Wahl is a self taught Australian freelance illustrator with over 20 years experience.
Growing up, Chris drew comics, portraiture, and caricatures. Those multiple interests were the foundation of the eclectic, pop culture inspired drawing style he uses today. In the early 90s Chris worked at Walt Disney TV Animation and also published and illustrated his own comic book series, which won him numerous awards including a Stanley for ‘Best Adventure Strip Artist’.
During his freelance career in advertising, spanning three decades, Chris’s variety of major clients include Coca-Cola, Pepsi, McDonald’s, KFC, PWC, Kellogg’s, Cadbury, Toyota, Mitsubishi and Greenpeace. Within illustration, Chis has worked for Marvel Comics, DC Comics, Titan Comics, Nitro Circus, MAD magazine, Revolver magazine, Penthouse, Danger 5, Ubisoft, NASCAR and Lucasfilm.
A personal highlight of Chris’s career has been his officially licensed Star Wars art being displayed in Leonard’s bedroom on ‘The Big Bang Theory’ TV show (and in Lucas’ personal art collection).
